Welcome To The I-20 DeKalb HOV Project Print E-mail

The Georgia Department of Transportation (DOT) is moving forward with planning for the I-20 DeKalb High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane project. This project will determine how best to accommodate the proposed addition of HOV lanes to the project area, which covers approximately 12 miles of I-20 beginning just west of Candler Road and ending one mile east of Turner Hill Road.

  • help reduce air pollution
  • improve traffic congestion
  • provide substantial time savings for commuters who rideshare

The I-20 DeKalb HOV project scope includes development of conceptual alternatives for the addition of HOV lanes to the project area. Alternatives developed will be evaluated based on factors, including the cost of the project, the impacts to the surrounding areas, safety, traffic capacity, accessibility, and many more.
